{"id":78692,"date":"2025-01-09T09:31:59","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T08:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petronor.eus\/?page_id=78692"},"modified":"2026-01-14T13:14:35","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T12:14:35","slug":"modification-of-the-current-units","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/petronor.eus\/en\/towards-a-decarbonized-refinery\/decarbonization-roadmap\/modification-of-the-current-units\/","title":{"rendered":"MODIFICATION OF THE CURRENT UNITS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row introBlock full-width-section primeraFila maxHeightAuto\">\n<h1 style=\"margin-top: 0;\">MODIFICATION OF THE CURRENT UNITS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row \">\n<div class=\"col-lg-4 col-md-4 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"post-thumb\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2485 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/current-units.png\" alt=\"Extending their lifespan by producing new low-carbon products\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-lg-8 col-md-8 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">In the 2024-2028 period, Petronor plans to conduct <b>14 projects<\/b> to modify the Refinery\u2019s current units for a total of <b>542 million euros<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">The first phase includes 4 projects, which apply proven technologies and enable the co-processing capacity of the units to be increased by incorporating a higher percentage of raw materials of biological origin in the manufacture of fuels.\u200b<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">The second phase includes 10 projects involving less mature technologies and high degrees of co-processing that can achieve 100% use of bio-based products and waste in fuel manufacture.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">One of the projects included in this Second Phase is the construction of a New Unit that will enable the production of polymer-grade propylene with a purity of 99.5%. This is a highly demanded product in the market, as it is used as a raw material in polymer production.
