{"id":78692,"date":"2025-01-09T09:31:59","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T08:31:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/petronor.eus\/?page_id=78692"},"modified":"2026-07-09T11:43:17","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T09:43:17","slug":"modification-of-the-current-units","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/petronor.eus\/en\/towards-a-decarbonized-refinery\/decarbonization-roadmap\/modification-of-the-current-units\/","title":{"rendered":"MODIFICATION OF THE CURRENT UNITS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"row introBlock full-width-section primeraFila maxHeightAuto\">\n<h1 style=\"margin-top: 0;\">MODIFICATION OF THE CURRENT UNITS<\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row \">\n<div class=\"col-lg-4 col-md-4 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"post-thumb\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2485 size-full\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/current-units.png\" alt=\"To extend its lifespan by producing new low-carbon products <b>and, if applicable, generate new units<\/b>.&#8221;\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-lg-8 col-md-8 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">In the 2024\u20132028 period, Petronor plans to carry out <b>12<\/b> projects to modify the current units of the Refinery for a total amount of <b>484.6<\/b> million euros.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">In a First Phase, 4 projects are included, which use proven technologies and allow increasing the coprocessing capacity of the units by incorporating a higher percentage of bio-based raw materials in fuel production. <b>These projects, some of which are already completed, involve a budget of \u20ac4.6 million<\/b>.\u200b<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">The Second Phase includes <b>8<\/b> projects that involve less mature technologies and high degrees of coprocessing that could reach up to 100% use of bio products and waste in fuel production. <b>The budget for this phase amounts to \u20ac480 million<\/b>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom:20px ; height:1px; clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-size:22px !important; line-height: normal;\">One of the projects included in this Second Phase is the construction of a New Unit that will allow the production of polymer-grade propylene with a purity of 99.5%. This is a highly demanded product in the market, as it is used as a raw material in polymer production.
