Nothofagaceae).\r\n\r\nEn su uso originario el t\u00e9rmino, derivado del lat\u00edn robur, designa a especies europeas de Quercus de hojas blandas, de borde sinuoso, caducas, propias de climas templados oce\u00e1nicos; o bien de variantes frescas, por altitud, del clima mediterr\u00e1neo.\r\n\r\nEl m\u00e1s notable de los robles europeos es Quercus robur, la especie forestal dominante en la vertiente atl\u00e1ntica de Europa. As\u00ed, esta variedad recibe los nombres de carballo en Galicia, en la frontera extreme\u00f1a con Portugal, y en Zamora (La Carballeda y Sanabria), carbayu en Asturias y cajiga en Cantabria.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<div class=\"col-lg-5 col-md-5 col-xs-12 col-sm-12\">\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1260\"
